Mr. El Helaly is an Egyptian national and senior legal counsel at Oracle. His main fields of specialization are intellectual property, and technology transfer with a particular focus on technology-based industries. His practice involves counseling, licensing, enforcement and management of IP assets. In1995 he received his L.L.B. at law from the University of Cairo, and admitted to the Egyptian Bar in since 1995. In 1998, He obtained his L.L.M in IP and technology at Franklin Pierce Law Center, USA. He started his legal career as a junior associate at Baker and McKenzie Cairo office, then he was appointed as public prosecutor. From 2000 until 2005, He was the head of the IP and licensing at Zaki Hashem & Partners in Cairo. He focused on assisting the Government of Egypt (“GOE”) towards its accession to the World Trade Organization in terms of negotiating, drafting and implementing adequate intellectual property legislations. He is a certified mediator for commercial and intellectual property disputes and is an active member of the LES USA-Canada, AIPPI”.
